Water Talks 2024

The GEO AquaWatch Water Talks is a series of webinars to share experiences and knowledge about water remote sensing research and application from early career scientists. The program is designed to support early career scientists from underrepresented groups, providing mentoring on communication skills by volunteers of the Early Career Society and senior researchers. Participation in the Water Talks provides an excellent opportunity to build a professional network and to bring your research to a wider audience.

The selection process for the 2024 iteration of the event was concluded in June 2024. Here is an overview of this year’s schedule:

• 2025-01-14 at 14:00 UTC: “Machine Learning for Remote Sensing-based Water Quality Monitoring: Lake Victoria“, by Wanjohi Christopher, DataLyteGreen, Kenya.
• 2025-02-25 at 14:00 UTC: “Assessing southern-Brazil extreme rainfall effects on sediment transport and Water Quality on the world’s largest chocked lagoon“, by Sergio Mauricio Molano Cárdenas, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
